My Writing Process

Hi all,

I’ve been invited to participate in MWP blog tour. I don’t often give thought about my writing process. Anyway that’s all gonna change today as I try to figure this out.

But first let me tell ya a little about the person responsible for getting me out of my writing cave and giving life to my blog again.

Nana Prah is a fabulous lady, who lives in Ghana-West Africa and is a nurse educator, when she’s not writing. Sorry Nana, it’s how I see it, writing first always.  🙂

She writes paranormal and sweet contemporary romance and is the author of three wonderful books,

Love through Time, Mid-wife to Destiny and a novella in A Touch of Winter.

To check out her awesome writing process, just click on her name.

And for all of you who want to know the way I sway, here goes:

1-What am I working on?

Right now I’m busy with finishing off revisions on the second book, Breaking Fate in the Fallen Guardian series. And yes, am also plotting the outline for the next Guardian book.

2-How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I love the paranormal darkness of my genre. As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog it’s no big secret the supernatural fascinate me. For those not in the know, well, let me just say little incidents from my past that have shaped my interest in this dark world. As a result it seeps into my writing, big time. I love works of Dean Koontz and Christine Feehan as a result it’s scary meets romance which filters through my writings…well, most times. 🙂

3-Why do I write what I do?

For the romance of course! I like putting my characters through the wringer, through a roller coaster of emotions and let them battle impossible odds before they get their HEA and I sigh happily along with them. Of course, I love my stubborn, stubborn heroes who believe they don’t need anyone until the heroines come along and knocks them right off their gorgeous asses.

4-How does your writing process work?

Usually a stray thought while listening to music, watching a movie—life. It has me rushing to my laptop.

I write it down then figure out a start and write, and tend to knock out three or four chapters to get a feel of my story–that’s as far I’d go in panster mode.

Then I write down a plot outline, this is more a guideline for me, so I don’t end up giving the yellow pages competition.  That in hand, I write my first draft, a skinny one with all the chapter plot points. Later, I flesh out my story, and characters take on certain quirks and I discover exactly who they are and fall in love with them as I write.

·

Like right now. I’m totally loving my silent warrior, Blaéz. I can’t wait for you all to read his story. (Yes, Nana, I hear you, the second book is done and in  revision stages. 🙂)

Moving on: Here’s how it works. I answered the four questions about my writing, now I’ll pay it forward by tagging three authors and link to their website and/or blog.

The authors I chose are all marvelous writers, in very diverse ways. Their blog will appear on 24th March.

·

1: Anna Katmore: She’s the awesome writer of the very popular YA Grover Beach series. One cannot help but fall in love with her heroes–she’s penned the hottest and sweetest hero ever–Ryan Hunter. Her latest, first fantasy NA book, Neverland is set to be released in April.

·

2: Celia Breslin: She’s an amazing author who wrote the sexiest geek/paranormal hero. Ravi is to die for. And hopefully Swim for Shore will be available soon for you all to enjoy. She’s already published two books—Haven & Vampire Code—the start to her totally hot, Tranquilli  Bloodline vampire series. (her blog will appear on the 27th March. )

·

3: Tricia Quinnies: She writes super-sexy contemporary stories. A treat for food lovers. The steam is mind-blowing hot! Her debut book Just Dessert is slated for release in August.

·

Now back to my writing cave, have a great day you all  ♥

I’m so glad you head me, Georgia. Not like I didn’t repeat myself or say it loud enough. I can’t wait to read his story. Your writing process seems very systematic. I like it especially writing the thin first draft and then flushing it out.

That should have been ‘heard.’ Darn fast fingers flying over the keyboard.

Nana, I would have corrected it, but now ‘head’ must stay 🙂
Blame it on the OCD in me for my writing system.
